Falstaff Nordic Awards Gala

Falstaff Nordic Awards Gala

On Monday 4th March, AROS attended a very special event which marks the arrival of Falstaff's White Guide, in Sweden. Below we have translated an article released this week in Sweden pictured here.
New Guide Gives Six Restaurants Top Marks
Sweden's only three-star hotel restaurant, Frantzén in Stockholm, receives a maximum of 100 points when Falstaff Magazine launches its first Swedish restaurant ranking guide.
On Falstaff's nationwide top list, there are 110 restaurants with 80 points or more. Falstaff presents itself as the largest publisher of culinary publications in the German-speaking countries Austria , Germany and Switzerland.
In recent years, the company has expanded to Italy, Slovenia and Estonia, where Falstaff's restaurant tests have replaced White Guides, a business that was run through a franchise agreement with Swedish White Guide.
In Sweden, White Guide has not had any operations for several years, but this autumn got a new owner, who plans to restart the pub testing.
Falstaff entered the Swedish market under the name Fal-staff Nordic with an awards gala with 300 guests at the Operator race in Stockholm on Monday evening.
The assessments are made by an anonymous jury with both Swedish and foreign
members under the direction of Tove Oskarsson Henckel, editor-in-chief of Falstaff Nordic and publisher of the Swedish Matmagasinet Gastronaut.
The grading scale consists of, food 50 points, service 20, wine and other drinks 20 and atmosphere 10 points.
Frantzén is the 8th tour range with a maximum of 100 points in the markets where Falstaff operates.
Aira and Operakällaren follow closely behind Frantzén, with 98 points. Three more restaurants receive 95 points or more, a level equal to the highest rating four forks, namely Mathias Dahlgren's
Seafood Gastroi Grand Hôtel, Ekstedtoch Adam/Albin. All are located in Stockholm.
Just outside this top tier, at 94 points, comes Daniel Berlin's new restaurant, Vyn in Österlen, Skane.
Finally two of the main awards which were awarded during the evening's gala went to Daniel Berlin, who received an award as Chef Of The Year and Vyn was named 2024's new restaurant rank.
